Brought online in 2017 brooks solar is an innovative project with a long term corporate power purchase agreement. Borea was responsible for the full engineering procurement and construction scope. Elemental energy developed a 15 mwac solar facility in brooks alberta the first utility scale solar project in western canada. 17 mw solar power facility on 30 hectares of land in newell county near brooks.

In addition to reducing ghg emissions this project will bring direct benefits to the community as well. Elemental energy is constructing a 15 megawatt solar facility near brooks. This project will include 50 000 solar panels that can power up to 3 000 homes and will be the first utility scale solar project in western canada. The project will use jinkosolar high efficiency mono perc modules installed by borea construction.

During a pre construction site visit elemental energy personnel noticed what appeared to be a hawk nest near the edge of their solar energy development property. Using over 48 000 high efficiency solar modules and nearly 3 000 tables of fixed racking system it is currently the largest utility scale solar plant in alberta.
